Labour Law in Albania and comparison with EU legislation

On December 4, 2021 an workshop was organized within the Enlargement of the European Union in the Western Balkan project (2019-ongoing) which is being implemented by University of New York Tirana in cooperation with EMA within the Jean Monnet and Erasmus + programme aiming to create a centre of excellence. Part of this session were the representatives of the National Chamber of Advocates in Albania. The expert Dr. Enkelejda Koka made a brief summary of the project, results and objectives that are being shared with students, experts and other academics of private and public universities while emphasizing the main results and outcomes the project has achieved so far under the creation and strengthening of the centre of excellence and of the cooperation among academics in various fields. She continued her presentation on the topic of the Labour Law and the termination of the employment contract in Albania, while analysing the Labour Code and  comparing it with best practices from EU Member States. Koka was focused also on how EU legislation and the approximation process in national legislation is affecting some positive developments and implications.
